Larry is the founder of Cooper Consulting and has enjoyed forty five years of solid experience in technology, business management, process engineering, product development and more. In 1992 he launched Cooper, a consultancy that for the last twenty five years has specialized in organizational management issues, process engineering, and management of technology within both the public and private sectors – but primarily focused on association and non-profits.

Larry began his career serving with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers achieving the rank of Captain prior to leaving active duty to join the private sector at IBM. There he became a Federal Program Director overseeing the placement of over $5 billion in IBM products to U.S. Government clients. After his IBM success, he became a Principal at Booz|Allen|Hamilton and was responsible for large-scale information systems engineering, management engineering, outsourcing and integration projects for membership and, professional associations.

In the early years of Cooper Consulting, client engagements included technology-related work for some large-scale private and public sector organizations such as a major aircraft manufacturer, a Fortune 50 technology manufacturer and even a tactical computing plan for a major element of the State of Texas.

Over the last twenty years, Larry and his Cooper Consulting team gained industry expertise and acclaim within the association and non-profit community, successfully serving over fifty such clients during that time. Larry has enjoyed leading wide-ranging consulting assignments from Technology / Business Strategy and Organizational Development to selection and implementation of Enterprise Computing Systems such as Association Management (AMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Financial Management (FMS) systems.

Mr. Cooper has served on non-profit Boards for over 15 years. He chaired the Board of Directors of an international non-profit organization with a presence in 61 countries and is the current Board chair and a Trustee of a large local faith-based organization.

Mr. Cooper attended Washington University (St. Louis) on a full tuition academic scholarship, where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and was inducted into Pi Tau Sigma, the National Mechanical Engineering Honorary Society.  His post graduate experience includes coursework in Business Administration at St. Louis University and seminars in international marketing (Harvard) and the Strategic Use of Computing in Government (Harvard, Kennedy School) plus numerous other corporate, trade and industry seminars.

Mr. Cooper is a full member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He is also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). He is a licensed Commercial Pilot and is certificated by the FAA as both a flight instructor and instrument flight instructor (CFII).

Mr. Cooper has served as a commissioner on a local Zoning Board of Adjustment. He was also elected to public office and served for a number of years as a member of a township governing board.
